Great Shasta Rail Trail

The Great Shasta Rail Trail connects the towns of Burney and McCloud. You can find so much on this 80-mile-long trail network. Hikers can walk through pristine forests or explore creeks and lakes. The trail gives you a panoramic view of Mount Shasta as well. Forty miles of the trail is excellent for hiking, horseback riding, skiing, and snowshoeing. There are limited lodging and commercial establishments in the area.
Heritage Junction Museum

If you’re into the rich history of McCloud, the Heritage Junction Museum is a must-visit spot. The historical museum was built way back in 1904 by the McCloud Lumber Company. It was a leisure center for employees back then. Presently, the museum houses photo collections of the town in its early days. Visitors can also find a variety of interesting artifacts at the museum.
Mt. Shasta Ski Park

Mt. Shasta Ski Park has 635 acres of terrain ideal for skiing. The park has 38 trails with ski areas designed for beginners, intermediate and advanced skiers. McCloud Golf Club

Enjoy a round of golf at McCloud Golf Club. The 9-hole golf course created by the McCloud River Lumber Company had its first game in 1923. The golf club features four tee sets for different skill levels with a 69.2 USGA course rating. Members can also enjoy the pro shop, cafe, and driving range.
